slvr37-38tn.jpg (8410 bytes)"Pitcher" shaped cream jugs appear from 1715-1745. They have a raised body with a cast, applied foot and handle. The "tripod" creamer came in the 1730’s with cast, applied feet and handle. From 1760-1780 the body of the creamer became pear shaped and in the 1770’s the circular foot returned with a double-bellied body. The neo-classical helmet creamer was in fashion until around 1805 when a flat-bottomed form was briefly seen. With the rising popularity of Tea Services the individual creamer fell out of fashion.
