MORRIS HALL PANCOAST   (1877-1963)

Born in Salem, New Jersey in 1877, Morris Hall Pancoast studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and in 1902 went to study for three years with Jean Paul Laurens at The Academie Julian.

He was an Impressionist who painted New England scenes, both Winter and Coastal, as well as scenes from Connecticut to Pennsylvania. And down the Eastern Seaboard.

He died in 1963 in Rockport, Ma.

Member: Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts, Salmagundi Club, Philadelphia Sketch Club.

Exhibited: Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, 1924 (gold), Corcoran Gallery of Art, National Academy of Design, Baltimore Charcoal Club, Golden Gate Exposition, Rockport Art Association.
